Diagnosis, Addictions, Recovery and the Cure.

Amber's Story

It all started..

Diagnosed with ADHD and Asthma very young, managing emotions and myself in general has always been a learning curve I had a hard time with. I left home early at 15, I graduated just after my 17th birthday from an alternative style Art Highschool. Let the punk rock and color begin..

It saved me at the time from living on the street and living instead back home where my Dad had given me no choice and enrolled me with my brother at his Highschool. They taught me a lot and will be forever grateful.

Coping with anything can be such a struggle...

Unfortunately life is intense in its own ways for each of us and I turned to alcohol in my 20s to try to self medicate, it helped me be more social, absolutely boosted my confidence and eliminated the insomnia issues and anxiety I was struggling with. For anyone that doesn't know, that's where the justification begins within yourself and I bombed from there.

It took years and  multiple rounds of damaging myself, damaging relationships to avoid DTs, withdrawal before getting clean and sober.

The Cure:

My Dad, AA and Artwork..

Art in any form whether it's a connection to music, singing, writing or painting, have always been amazing outlets for me to express emotions, thoughts and feelings. I could conbect to others with a melody or colorully communicate what I can't find words for through painting beautiful colors.

Good or bad it's consistantly been a medium in my life, which has saved my life.  I want to pay that forward and decided to try to add color back into the world in the way I can.

Partial proceeds of any kind will be donated towards the AA recovery program in my community along with AARCS rescue foundation who do amazing things as well for the community through animal rescue and care.

I'm ready to help others through creative expression in vibrant bold acrylics artworks.

I am excited to hear more from you,

Your stories and ideas have been amazing, please continue to share.
